Get Closer at Cornwall’s Biggest Zoo! See the penguins play in their pool, visit the creepiest crawlies in the atmospheric tropical house, watch the animals get their lunch and learn more about conservation – a perfect day out for the whole family!

Newquay Zoo Newquay Zoo - Picture 1

Situated on the ‘Coast of Dreams’ in a thriving family resort, Newquay Zoo is surrounded by stunning Cornish beaches and scenery. Set amongst sub-tropical lakeside gardens and home to over 130 species, a visit to Newquay would not be complete without a visit to the Zoo.

See the family of otters play in their stream at the beautiful Oriental Garden, watch the striking zebra wander the African Savanna from the raised viewing platform and meet a few of the Zoo’s residents at the daily animal encounters and feeds!

2011 sees the opening of Toad Hall, a brand new exhibit which will raise awareness of the global threat to amphibians. As part of The Whitely Wildlife Conservation Trust, Newquay Zoo is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of endangered species and successfully contributes in breeding programmes for some of the worlds most at risk animals – including Visayan warty pigs, black wildebeest, Sulawesi crested black macaques and the beautiful fishing cat. You can learn more about the plight of these endangered species on your visit to the Zoo, and if you’re lucky you may even see a baby!

A year long events programme has something for everyone, please see the official website for more details. Group bookings are always welcome and the site is mainly level and wheelchair friendly. A wild day out for all the family!
